Eve Queler’s annual Bel Canto Opera Concert has been the gem in the crown of our fundraising efforts, allowing us to completely restore The White Church. Since 1994, Eve has brought up-and-coming young opera singers to Blandford for what is always a stellar performance in intimate setting of The White Church. The Bel Canto performance is part of the Historical Society’s Summer Concert Series and the program always includes well-known operas by favorite composers.
Join us for the 24th Annual Bel Canto Opera on July 28, 2018!
This year marks the 24th year that Maestra Eve Queler brings up-and-coming young opera singers to Blandford for what is always a stellar performance at The White Church. The Bel Canto performance is part of the Historical Society’s Summer Concert Series.
This year Maestra Queler brings sopranos April Martin and Jessica Sandidge with baritone John Viscardi and tenor Matthew White. The program will include well-known favorites from operas by Verdi, Rossini, Puccini, Bizet, Mozart and other composers. Certain treats will be the Toreador Song from Bizet’s Carmen, the duet Pa-pa-pa-pageno from Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Brindisi, the Drinking Song from Verdi’s La Traviata.
